Nobody wants to fail, at least intentionally. Why? Failures can be painful, sorrowful, shameful etc. They may even be sources of rejection and abandon. They can even make you feel less as a person. Well, failures are failures but they don´t define you. Instead, failures can be steps to success. Great persons failed or were considered failures. If you read the Bible, you’ll realize that the biggest stars were the biggest sinners. They’ve fallen big time. Let´s check a few imperfect biblical figures:
Jacob – a liar, deceitful brother and swindler; David – a notorious murderer and adulterer; Jonah – coward and uncooperative in God´s plan; Elijah – depressive and coward before Queen Jezebel; Peter – temperamental, denied Jesus three times; Paul – persecutor and murderer of Christians; Jesus´ women friends: the town prostitute, the Samaritan woman and the woman caught in adultery. All of these biblical characters fumbled hard. But they are great because God´s love is greater than their failures. Wasn´t Jesus also considered a failure by his relatives and town folks? God lifted them up and led them to heights they had never imagined. God was their hope.
And the same loving God who worked in their lives will fill you with hope – wherever you are, however trapped and fallen you are. He offers chances and blessings that are even beyond your imagination. He forgets your sins and doesn´t condemn you because He never defines His children by their mistakes! God allows your mistakes and loves you with your mistakes included. God´s plan to fill you with grace is greater than all your mistakes. God will transform your failures into blessings, your disgrace into grace. He will raise you up to more than you can be.
